Platform

A fortnight before the platform, more foreign experts have already registered than took part in the first dunaPart platform – registrations have passed the 85 mark. We are grateful for the high level of interest and look forward to hearing from others that wish to register or notify by 15 January. It is not only the colourful and strong programme that makes it worthwhile to come, but also the opportunity of meeting one another, of getting together with friends and colleagues with whom we have much in common.
We are particularly pleased that, thanks to the assistance of the Trust for Mutual Understanding, a special delegation from the United States is coming to the platform.

Programme
The programme is ready. We have already sent information about performances, but up to now the professional programme has not been made known. A platform is always a perfect opportunity to share and gather information from the world at large and to hear of current international affairs as well as to make the acquaintance of the artists and companies of the country in question. For that reason we are organising panel discussions to precede the artistic programme, and have requested foreign experts to give presentations of their organisations and current projects.
Three days is a very short time for us to be able to present every interesting and significant artist, company and organisation active on the Hungarian performing arts scene. Therefore, the professional programme focuses on bringing you special events through which you can get acquainted with artists, ideas and projects whom we could not include in the main programme, but who will contribute to giving you the best overview of the local scene. We offer you the following „specialties”:

  • Visit the Venues – Our Little Corner of the World: you will have a chance to visit four Budapest venues that are an important part of the local performing arts scene and active as production houses, residency and performance spaces open to international collaborations
  • Close Encounters: Meet Hungarian artists one-on-one in their favourite cafés
  • Pitch sessions will introduce you to the projects and plans of interesting Hungarian artists and performing arts organisations.
For Visit the Venues we can provide transportation (by mini bus) only to a limited number of participants, and for Close Encounters we offer a total of 20 meetings with six different artists. As capacity for both events is quite limited, we recommend that you book for these as soon as possible on your personal registration page.

Practical
There are only five days left until registration closes on 15 January. Tickets and hotel rooms are being steadily taken up. If you have not already booked we recommend you to do so without delay!
We also know by now what delicious menus await our guests at lunch on the 21st and 22nd – everyone will find dishes to their taste, and we are sure that those attending the theatre programme on Friday and Saturday will like the sandwich dinner.

Let's meet at the informal opening of dunaPart2, 6 p.m. on 20 January at Trafó, when we look forward to greeting everyone with a glass of drink and a little something to eat!

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail at info@dunapart.net.

See you soon in Budapest!

Yours sincerely,
